Humphery Gabriel, Shing Wei Lead Vanung to Win over Jiantong in Taiwan UBA

The Vanung University Lions  won their 3rd game in  a row to maintain a 100% start to the 2019/2020 Taiwan University Basketball Association League as they defeated the Jiangtong  71-60 on Thursday at Tsing Hua Center.

Humphery Gabriel led the way with 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Shing Wei  posted 15 points,  four assists and six rebounds.

Vanung met a stiff opposition in Jiangtong unlike in the Opening two Games where they tore their opponents apart right from the tip off as the first Quarter ended 20-18  as the Lions continue to miss their attempts from the 3 points Line.

Jiangtong Cut the lead to just 1 point at Half time to  37-36  and Coach Ben Ism Wu went into the locker room at the interval charging his wards on.

The Lions have their eyes set for Qualification for the Playoffs and they know they cannot afford to drop any games but Jiangton weren’ t going to bow down, and Quarter 3 ended 12-11 to give Vanung  just a 2 point lead.

Whatever Coach Ben must have told the lads during the Quarter break seems to work when they returned in the 4th Quarter as Humphery Gabriel and Shing Wei Stepped up to take the game to the Obviously tired legs of Jiangtong   to win the Quarter 22-13  and the tie with Nine Points  71-60  making it 3-0 on the bounce.

“We didnt Play well to our full potential, but it was good to win and maintain our Winning Streak, We hope to continue to get better” Humphery Gabriel said moments after the tie winning his third Consecutive Player of the Game.
